2011 marks the 350th anniversary of the signing of the royal charter for Falmouth. October 5th 1661 King Charles II signed the act, thereby making Falmouth an official town. An exciting series of town wide events and activities are planned.
The highlight of the events programme is the fantastic re-enactment that will take place along the streets of Falmouth entitled For King and Kernow.Taking place on October 5th, 350th Anniversary Day of the signing of the Town Charter by King Charles II the enactments at 10.00am & 1.00 pm will pitch in a street theatre battle, the Royalists and Parliamentarians, from the Moor and Prince of Wales Pier to Events Square. Other higlights include FREE entry to Pendennis Castle for Falmouth residents on October 5th, performances of a specially commissioned play entitled Remember, open gardens at the historic Arwenack House and Manor on October 8th, music events at Princess Pavilion, exhibitions at Falmouth Art Gallery, activities at the National Maritime Museum Cornwall and loads more besides!
