About

Originally known as Penmere House, Penmere Manor was built by a Captain of one of the Cornish Packets – ships that transported mail around the world and played an important role in Falmouth’s history. The doors to the Library are said to be from one of the packet ships of that era.The house remained in private occupation for most of its life.During the Second World War the then owners, members of the well-known Cornish Bolitho family, vacated the house and it became a home for injured officers, followed by a periodical spell as a teaching convent for girls. Penmere House was transformed into a hotel in the late 1950s and has always been very much a family owned and run hotel.The comfort of guests and feeling of welcome is paramount; the Moore family along with their friendly staff offers you a very warm welcome.

The Penmere Manor Hotel offers an ideal base for business or pleasure and is perfectly located to use as a base to explore the whole of Cornwall. The hotel is only one mile away from the A39, and Falmouth Town Centre a five-minute car journey. The city of Truro and the major towns of Helston and Redruth are all only a 20-minute drive away. Each of the 37 en suite bedrooms are well appointed, have free Wi-Fi, the latest flat screen digital TVs, hairdryers, ironing facilities, tea and coffee making facilities, and free car parking.

This charming Georgian house has been elegantly maintained and boasts a three-star grading by the AA and is rated at 80%, one of the highest ratings for a three-star hotel in Falmouth. Hotel guests have full access to the leisure facilities for the duration of thier stay. The Club is open only to hotel guests and club members between the hours of 7.00am and 9.00pm, and is not open to the general public. The facilities consist of an indoor heated pool, Jacuzzi, sauna and a well-equipped small gymnasium. When dining at the Penmere, you have the choice of either the Manor Bar or Manor Restaurant. The menu offers a selection of dishes prepared using fresh natural ingredients from local suppliers and food is served from 6.30pm with last orders at 8.45pm.The Manor Restaurant, a bright and spacious area overlooking the hotel lounge area and outside terrace beyond offers a more refined style of service, but still in a relaxed environment.The Manor Bar has a warm inviting atmosphere with outside seating on our terrace with views over the hotel grounds and distant sea views beyond, the perfect spot to relax on a warm Summer evening. Many Cornish brewed beers and spirits can be found being served such as Tribute and a selection of Tarquins Gins.For those guests who have booked on any of our dinner, bed and breakfast packages then you automatically receive a £35 per person allowance towards anything from the dinner menu, but you will only have been charged £30.00 extra on top of the bed and breakfast rate, a saving of £5.00 per person! We are open to non hotel residents, however bookings are essential so please contact us on 01326 211411 to make your dinner reservation. No event is too intimate for us at Penmere Manor Hotel. We cater for up to 60 people and can accommodate business conferences, day wedding receptions, anniversaries, birthdays, christenings, funeral wakes and group lunches. We have two venues to choose from and both are adaptable to a variety of layouts, depending on numbers and your seating requirements. The Passingham Room with free Wi-Fi and air conditioning will seat up to 30 people for a meeting or 40 people for a meal and is an ideal room for many types of occasions. For smaller more intimate meetings we have the Boardroom which is ideal for a boardroom style meeting seating up to 12 people. Also benefiting from free wifi and personal service.
