This area is home to many interesting and historic buildings such as the Poly Arts Centre, St George’s Arcade and King Charles the Martyr Church. Here, high street brands meet eclectic independent shops. There are numerous cellars under the road that may have been used for storage – or were they hiding places for smugglers?
