With Christmas just around the corner, Falmouth is preparing for a truly magical season filled with festive entertainment, music, and crafts. Whether you’re searching for a last-minute gift, to be surrounded by Christmas spirit, or seasonal fun for the whole family, our town offers something for everyone.

Falmouth After 5  – Friday 5th December

Friday 5th December sees the return of Falmouth BID’s First Friday initiative, where local businesses will be offering exclusive deals, special menus, and events with a festive twist. The initiative, which runs monthly until March 2026, encourages visitors to explore and enjoy Falmouth’s nighttime economy, taking advantage of all that Falmouth has to offer after dark.

Festive Weekend – Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th December – WET WEATHER UPDATE 

Falmouth’s much-loved Festive Weekend will go ahead as planned this Saturday and Sunday, with organisers implementing a prepared wet weather contingency plan with some attractions now moving to Princess Pavillions.

Attractions Proceeding as Planned in the Town

  • Festive Land Train – The land train will continue on its pre-planned route, helping shoppers easily explore the town centre.
  • Snow Machines – Church Street will still be transformed into a magical winter wonderland thanks to our snow machines.
  • High Street Christmas Market – The Old High Street will remain home to the vibrant Christmas Market, showcasing brilliant local traders.

Attractions Relocated to the Princess Pavilion

  • Artificial Ice Rink & Snow Globe Photo Attraction – The indoor theatre will be transformed into a winter playground, complete with artificial ice rink and giant snow globe!
  • Live Festive Music & Choirs – Visitors can enjoy live performances while relaxing with hot drinks and cake from the Pavilion café.
  • Santa’s Grotto – Children can meet Santa in his indoor Grotto and receive a small gift.

Attractions Relocated Within the Town Centre

  • Christmas Market Marquee – The makers marquee, previously planned for Events Square, will now join the Market on The Moor, creating an expanded festive marketplace.
  • Saturday only – Art Gallery & Library  – In the lobby of the Municipal Buildings you can meet the real Father Christmas and donate a gift for those less fortunate and in the art gallery arts and crafts will be taking place all day on Saturday.

If you wander further up the Old High Street, you’ll discover a brand-new Christmas Craft Market running throughout the weekend. Here, you can soak up the festive atmosphere with live music as you sip a warming mulled wine or a comforting hot chocolate, all while browsing an array of handcrafted gifts and artisan stalls. Families can enjoy face painting, and visitors can explore the eclectic mix of independent shops and local businesses that make this part of Falmouth so special, a perfect way to celebrate the season in true Cornish style.

Poly Christmas Market – Friday 5th to Sunday 7th December

From Friday 5th to Sunday 7th December, you can also head to The Poly, on Church Street to explore a very special Christmas Craft market. Offering a selection of talented creations by local artists and designers, there is every opportunity to find that special gift for loved ones. With accompanying family workshops and exhibitions also available to book through their website, the Poly is geared up to bring some real festive magic to Falmouth this year.

Fire Station Drive-Through Christmas Grotto – Sunday 7th and Monday 8th December

On Sunday 7th and Monday 8th December, Falmouth Fire Station will transform into a magical winter wonderland for its Drive-Through Christmas Grotto. From 4:30pm to 7:30pm, families can enjoy the festive sights and sounds as they drive through the beautifully decorated station grounds, all from the comfort of their cars. Santa Claus himself will be waiting to greet visitors and hand out a small gift to every child, making this a truly memorable experience for the whole family.

This heartwarming event isn’t just about spreading festive cheer, it’s also about giving back. Donations collected will support The Firefighters Charity, helping the brave men and women who keep our community safe all year round. So, mark your calendars and visit Falmouth Fire Station on Trescobeas Road for an evening filled with holiday magic, goodwill, and the true spirit of Christmas.

Christmas Tree Festival – Sunday 30th November to Friday 2nd January

The enchanting Falmouth Christmas Tree Festival will be taking place from Sunday 30th November to Friday 2nd January at the Princess Pavilion. Over 50 community-decorated trees will light up the Pavilion grounds, each embracing a unique festive theme. Don’t miss the grand switch-on ceremony on Sunday 30th November, featuring live evening entertainment and seasonal refreshments. Venture inside to discover the heartwarming Tree of Wishes, where you can honour loved ones or send festive hopes skyward, all donations supporting Pendennis Leisure to bring a swimming pool back to Falmouth. Whether you’re here for the switch-on or later in the festive period, it’s a magical experience not to be missed.

Harmony Choir – Wednesday 24th December

On Wednesday 24th December, be prepared for the streets of Falmouth to come alive with the joyful echo of traditional Cornish Merritts. Gathering at The Five’s Cyderhouse, Grove Place, around 10:30am, choirs from across Cornwall will serenade the holiday spirit as they process through the town. The procession concludes at The Moor around 1pm, offering a perfect festive pause in your Christmas Eve plans. Bring your loved ones to immerse yourselves in this stirring community celebration of song and tradition.
