Growing a lovely neighbourhood bakery through a fog of tiredness, artisan bread, cakes and heavy lifting!
Stones Bakery started life as a stall at the Falmouth Market on the Moor and St Ives Farmers Market. Throughout a couple of cold winters we dreamt of bricks and mortar and so in 2009 we took the plunge and opened our shop and bakery on the Old High Street, Falmouth.
We make bread, cakes, pastries, and savoury tarts as well as our own muesli, biscuits and crackers. We don’t need to use artificial preservatives because our breads keep well naturally and you can buy the bread fresh out of the ovens throughout the day so you’ll often find your loaf is still warm.
We don’t use any artificial additives, flavourings or improvers. We only add natural ingredients such as nuts, fresh and dried fruit, veg, herbs and spices. All our doughs have a long fermentation which improves the flavour and the keeping qualities of the breads.
