Robo Kitchen

With Japanese food at its heart, accompanied by additional influences from Korea, Vietnam and Southeast Asia, Robo Kitchen Bar and Canteen use the freshest Cornish fish and produce to create decadent dishes within its casual dining concept near Discovery Quay. Guests can also find draught Asahi lager and incredible Japanese whiskey next to Cornish Orchards cider and locally made spirits, craft beers, and simple and seasonal ocktail lists alongside the flavoursome food.

Robo is a relatively new opening, having opened in October 2020 during the middle of the pandemic and outside of the traditional tourist season. However, with a great display of resilience and adaptability, the restaurant expertly navigated through rapidly changing original plans, a digital transformation, and setting up takeaway and delivery options, almost overnight.

Owner and Head Chef – Will Gould – says, “Falmouth is an excellent location for a restaurant, much thanks to the large student population and international community connected via the marine network. Despite setting up shop in the middle of the pandemic, we’ve found nothing but support from fellow local business owners as well as the local population. Cornwall is such a wonderful county with amazing things happening in almost every sector, propped up by a tight-knit and supportive community. The opportunity to showcase this to the world leaders is a fantastic one, and I hope they find it as inspiring as we do.”
