Budock Vean is a 4-star country house hotel sitting on the Helford River just south of Falmouth in Cornwall.  Its private grounds cover around 65 acres and include golf course, parkland and sub-tropical gardens which lead down to a private foreshore on the Helford River. This is a family run hotel with friendly, high quality service and sustainability at its heart.

 Privately owned by the Barlow family since 1987 the hotel has been under the watchful eye of Martin Barlow since 2000 when he took the reins from his mother and father. This family approach is nothing new to Budock Vean which has been independently run as a hotel for just shy of 90 years.

In the 1930s the hotel was established as a country club and this ethos of providing a beautiful, peaceful haven for health, rest and sports continues to this day. The hotel boasts and enviable menu of activities for guests, members, staff and day visitors to enjoy including; golf, walking, swimming, croquet, tennis, kayaking, SUP (stand-up paddle boarding) and boat trips. There is an in-house Health Spa for massages and holistic therapies including CBD treatments.  There are plans afoot to introduce training bootcamp weekends in the shoulder seasons for people wishing to escape for a break away and enjoy working on their physical and mental health in the hotel grounds.

“We have a thriving local membership of our golf and tennis clubs for juniors and adults and of course these outside physical activities are more important than ever before for our mental and physical wellbeing. It really was so wonderful to see people back outside enjoying their sport after lockdowns,” says Martin Barlow. “We have special deals for our team of staff so that they can enjoy the facilities we have on offer, we recognise that, particularly on the back of the pandemic, life may be stressful and offering opportunities to exercise is just one of the ways we try to extend our support for the people who work with us.”
