Falmouth Shopmobility Scheme

The Falmouth Shopmobility Scheme is a service for people with mobility issues to aid their experience of Falmouth. The following mobility aids are available: 10 manual wheelchairs, 1 push power assisted wheelchair (non-collapsible), 3 boot scooters (collapsible to go into the car) and 2 mobility walkers.

Who can use Shopmobility?
Anyone who has difficulty walking – you do not need to be registered disabled. If you have had an accident, surgery, have a temporary injury, are elderly or pregnant and find it difficult to walk long distances, you are more than welcome to hire our vehicles. The weight limit for the scooters and wheelchairs is 18 stone.
How to use Shopmobility
On your first visit you will need to provide some identification, one of which must include your address. For example, you could bring your pension book, a recent electricity bill or your Council Tax bill. You will need to complete a simple registration form and will be shown how to use the vehicle of your choice. When you are happy that you can use the machine away you go! At the end of your trip simply return the scooter or wheelchair to the Shopmobility office.
How much will it cost?
It is only £5.00 per day (or part thereof) hire charge for either a scooter or wheelchair, with no annual fee. Cash or card payments accepted. Collection and drop-off in person, no delivery option.
