About
Formerly The Wodehouse Arms, the pub reopened in November 2017 after an extensive refurbishment. It has a rustic, simple yet beautiful interior and a charming, homely and relaxed atmosphere complete with a cosy wood burning stove.
New owners Tom, Lara and team have a passion for great quality, very local and always seasonal food, cooked simply with love. The Penny is very proud to work alongside some brilliant and passionate local suppliers and the menu changes every month to reflect this and to showcase the fantastic produce they source from the Cornish fields, farms and ocean.
The Penny’s love for Cornwall, its produce and products extends to their drinks. There is a heavy bias on the finest Cornish draught and craft beers, ciders and some exceptional Cornish spirits such as Hicks Healey Whiskey, the first Cornish Whiskey for over 300 years; Aval Dor Cornish Potato Vodka and a fantastic range of local gins. They also offer coffee which is hand roasted in Cornwall and great loose leaf teas blended just up the river in Truro. The Penny also has a small but carefully selected wine list with some classic and some more interesting choices, all of which are delicious.
Pennycomequick is renowned for its service and the team are passionate about making every single customer feel welcome and relaxed. Whether you simply want to enjoy a drink by the fire and relax in the lovely atmosphere or sample some of their delicious pub food, everyone is most welcome.
