Accommodation Grading & Logos

Inspections and gradings are carried out nationally by either VisitBritain (VB) or the AA and locally by Quality in Falmouth (QiF) which is affiliated to the Falmouth and District Hotels Association (FDHA). Some establishments listed here may not have an inspection process in place.

All assessing organisations assess Hotels and Guest House/B&B/Self-Catering accommodation in Cornwall to the same criteria and award either ‘Approved’ or 1-5 stars. QiF also use Cornish Flag logos. Premises should be inspected annually to maintain their quality grading.

The star/flag gradings reflect the overall quality of the accommodation and experience. The establishments are checked by independent assessors who work to ensure that the standards you find are what you would expect for the price you pay.

Gradings explained –
