Global Support from A&P Falmouth

Supporting warships and auxiliary vessels in operational theatre across the globe is one of A&P Falmouth’s key strategic priorities.

A&P’s specialist defence business is based at A&P Falmouth and provides support to the Royal Fleet Auxiliary whilst they are on deployment in many G7 and D10 countries, with the help of its dedicated In-Service Support team.

This team provides extensive ship repair and fabrication services to the Royal Navy, Royal Fleet Auxiliary, the Tier One supply chain and overseas Navies and has delivered more than 200 refits, maintenance periods and conversions for the governments of the UK, Australia, Bangladesh, Brazil and Lithuania.

Gerald Pitts, Managing Director of A&P Defence at A&P Falmouth said: “Supporting clients and their vessels while on deployment has always been a pivotal part of our business and we’re proud that our global support team is based in Falmouth. It’s a tribute to our team’s expertise, exacting programme management and collaborative relationship with the MoD, that we do this with such success.”

Recent projects include management of a Contractor Support Period (CSP) at a shipyard in Bahrain while RFA Cardigan Bay was deployed to the Gulf and more recently, the provision of remote video support due to the challenges of Covid. Other projects have included delivering an ACP for RFA Mounts Bay in the Caribbean and multiple design visits to Korea ahead of A&P’s UK Customisation, Capability Acceptance Trials and Support (UKCCATS) contract for all four of the new class of fast fleet tankers ships in 2018.

In addition, A&P’s sister business Atlantic & Peninsula Australia, provides In-service Sustainment and Support (ISS) directly to the Australian Department of Defence for HMAS Choules. The first ISS contract of its kind, the business provides streamlined decision-making and governance support to the Royal Australian Navy and CASG.

A&P has an agile approach to global service delivery which is backed up with commercial expertise, well-equipped facilities across the UK, established relationships with partners around the world, a highly skilled workforce and a collaborative approach.
